On Sunday, while addressing an event at the Delhi BJP office to felicitate people who made donations for the construction of a proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya, Union minister Prakash Javadekar claimed, ” when Babur came to India he choose to destruct Ram temple in Ayodhya as he knew that the living force of the country rested there.”
He further added that “the ‘historical blunder’ (Aitihasik Bhool) was corrected on December 6, 1992”, when a group of Hindu extremists attacked and demolished the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
?When foreign invaders like Babur came to India, why did he choose Ram temple for demolition? Because he knew that the living force of the country rested in Ram temple,” Javadekar claimed.
“The disputed structure built there was not a mosque because no worship happened there,” he further added.
Javadekar recalled how he was part of the ‘ending evidence of the invaders’ history’, and said he was present when the ‘historical mistake’ was corrected.
“I was a witness to the history created on December 6, 1992. That time I used to work for Yuva Morcha (Bharatiya Janata Youth Wing). I was in Ayodhya as a ‘kar sevak’. I was on the stage, there were millions of kar sevak,” he said.
“The day before the demolition, we slept there in the ground at the night and the three domes (of Babri Masjid) were visible. Next day, the world saw how a historical mistake was ended,” he further added.
Responding to Javadekar’s remarks, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi asked the Union minister to make the same statement in court.
Attaching a video of Javadekar’s remarks, Owaisi tweeted, “SC said there was no evidence that temple was demolished. It also said that demolition of Masjid was an egregious violation of rule of law.”
“CBI court says no evidence of conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid. Why didn’t you confess to this in court with just as much pride? Shameful,” Owaisi added in his tweet.

In September 2020, all the 32 accused in the Babri mosque demolition case, including BJP veterans L K Advani and MM Joshi, were acquitted by a special CBI court.
Let us tell you that the court had said that there was no conclusive evidence against the accused and the judge had said in the verdict that the demolition was “not pre-planned”.
