UP’s Hathras Gang-Rape Dalit Victim Dies In Delhi’s Hospital

A 19-year-old girl, who was a victim of gang rape and torture in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, died in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday morning.

In the BJP-ruled state of Uttar Pradesh, such incidents continuously happen day by day. The same government who makes big claims for women’s safety.

The victim, who was gang-raped two weeks ago in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the ICU at the hospital in Aligarh for the last two weeks. On Monday, the victim was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi amid tight security.

Let us tell you that on September 14, four youth gang-raped her along with the victim. Not only this, the victim’s spinal cord was damaged and her tongue was cut off by the culprits.

According to reports, the culprits dragged her from her dupatta to the farm while she was cutting fodder with her family.

Confirming this, the victim’s brother said that they got the information about her death at 6 am. “We want justice for her. The accused should not be spared. They should be hanged,” he said.

After the death of a Dalit girl, Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi, and former chief minister of the state and Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati have targeted the Yogi government.

“The news of the death of Dalit victim after gang rape in Hathras, UP today is very sad. Government should provide all possible help to the victim family and ensure fast punishment to the culprits by prosecuting them in fast track court, this demand of BSP,” Mayawati tweeted in Hindi.

“A Dalit girl who died in Hathras succumbed at Safdarjung Hospital. For two weeks she struggled with life and death in hospitals. Incidents of rape in Hathras, Shahjahanpur and Gorakhpur have rocked the state,” Priyanka Gandhi tweeted in Hindi.

“Law and order in UP has deteriorated to a great extent. There is no name-mark for the safety of women. The criminals are committing open crime. The killers of this girl should be punished severely,” she further tweeted.

“Yogi Adiytanath, you are responsible for the safety of women in UP, Gandhi said.

At the same time, the police have arrested the four accused in this case.
